These warriors stormed into commoners' homes and snatched away children. If anyone in the household dared resist, they would be cut down on the spot!

Fear had changed the warriors. They no longer followed any so-called Bushido, caring only about gathering enough sacrifices before sunset tomorrow.

Cries and screams filled the city. Countless children were violently taken away, while their parents chased after the warriors, trying to reclaim them.

But the fear-stricken warriors drew the swords at their waists and casually butchered people in the streets!

The Giant Monster's demands spread through the city: children on the first day, the elderly on the second, married couples on the third.

That night, some people climbed onto the city walls, intending to escape from Kyoto through the rear walls.

Most of the Big Monster's forces blocked Peach Blossom Mountain outside the main gate, while the other three smaller gates had been sealed with boulders.

To leave the city, they had to climb down ropes.

As a warrior who had voluntarily joined the city's defenders, Genpei had been assigned to a wall patrol unit and was responsible for guarding a section of the ramparts.

Genpei was patrolling the wall when he saw a great number of commoners preparing to rush it. Yet the warriors on the wall did not stop them, allowing them to climb up and slide down ropes to leave the city.

Genpei asked the warrior leading his unit,
