Pirate ship

After clicking save on his gun modification settings, Li Qinwu took both guns over to the wall of his spacious apartment, where he kept several sets of Power Armor.

He fitted the two guns into the slots on the armor's arms, thinking he needed to find a battlefield to test the power of these two specialized laser weapons.

The thought had barely crossed his mind when the warning lights in his room suddenly turned red, and a piercing alarm rang throughout the warship.

The captain's voice came over the ship's loudspeakers:

"First-level combat readiness! All noncombatants, return to your rooms, shut your doors, and stay put!

Anti-Boarding Squad, take your positions immediately and establish defenses!

Macro Cannon and Laser Cannon arrays, aim to port and stand by.

Activate the Void Shield immediately!"

Clear orders poured from the captain's mouth, and the entire warship prepared for battle.

Hearing those orders, Li Qinwu knew they had probably encountered an enemy. He hurriedly donned a suit of Heavy Power Armor and ran to the bridge.

As soon as he arrived, the captain reported to him from the bridge's command station:

"As we entered the Asteroid Belt, an unidentified vessel that isn't registered in the Imperium's records suddenly appeared to port. It's so heavily modified that we can't even tell what model it is!"

The captain brought up an image on the holographic display for Li Qinwu.

Li Qinwu took a look. It was a small ship roughly 1.5 kilometers long, covered from end to end in densely packed weld marks. One glance told him it was up to no good, and a possibility immediately occurred to him.

"Could that be a pirate ship?"

The universe was so vast, with so many unpoliced regions, that pirate ships were naturally plentiful!

The captain nodded gravely.
