Background / History
Li Qinwu’s early recorded activities center on survival in the Lower Hive and the construction of a self-sustaining Hideout. He improves its sanitation, water purification, and food-production capacity while scavenging war zones and infiltrating rebel territory for resources and military dog tags. His methods are consistently utilitarian; when a rebel discovers his false identity, Li Qinwu kills him rather than risk exposure. 14
He builds a working relationship with Lieutenant Rudosen, recovering battlefield assets, facilitating trade, and assisting the officer’s career plans. Rudosen’s access to PDF resources gives Li Qinwu room to expand his own operations, while Li Qinwu’s results repeatedly provide Rudosen with credit and leverage. 7 37 44 47
His investigation of Chaos corruption at Horse Village brings him into contact with the Imperial Cult. After reporting the incident, he receives a priest’s Holy Seal, absorbs its Warp essence, and binds it to his soul. The relic becomes part of his resurrecting identity and increases his standing with Imperial Cult personnel. 128
Li Qinwu later turns military success into social advancement. He publicly credits his superiors during General Zeppelin’s inspection, receives the Silver Oak Leaf Medal, and is promoted from corporal to sergeant. He subsequently becomes Baron of Whitewater City and establishes a noble house under a black skull-and-longsword banner. 132 209
Appearance
Bone enhancement, extreme training, divine blessings, and Power Armor have transformed Li Qinwu into an unusually large and heavily built human. After his third enhancement, he stands around two meters tall and weighs 225 kilograms; Khorne’s blessing later enlarges him to approximately 2.2 meters. 288 380
- Enormous, densely muscular frame reinforced by three bone-density enhancement surgeries. 284 288
- A Holy Warrior sword tattoo on his neck, which resurrects with him because he considers it part of his essence. 224
- Frequently appears in ornate gold Power Armor, particularly his customized heavy Ignatus suit. 331 785
- Has at times adopted deliberately theatrical presentation, including a cape marked “Ruling Class.” 331
Personality
Li Qinwu is resourceful, opportunistic, and strongly oriented toward self-reliance. He treats infrastructure, wealth, weapons, favors, and supernatural artifacts as tools to be converted into security and influence. His rise from Hideout scavenger to noble and Inquisition agent is driven as much by practical planning as by combat power. 14 204 785
He is confrontational, vulgar, and willing to use intimidation or sudden violence when he believes it is useful. During a rebel council meeting, he beats a leader nearly to death and provokes the others into an armed standoff, then immediately shifts to discussing the coming PDF attack. 86
Despite his self-interest and theatrical arrogance, Li Qinwu forms lasting attachments. He worries about Rudosen after the Spire purges, honors his agreement to aid Nightingale’s succession struggle, and recognizes Little Sun’s difficult efforts at self-improvement when others dismiss him as hopeless. 190 335 858
He also has a pronounced dislike of bureaucratic restraint. He seeks authority, wealth, and military strength, but prefers arrangements that preserve his autonomy—such as becoming an Inquisition agent under Sigurd rather than a fully independent official buried in administration. 785
Abilities & Skills
Perpetual Resurrection
Li Qinwu can die and revive in his Hideout with his body restored.
- Poisoning, radiation exposure, and physical exhaustion are removed upon resurrection. 224
- Objects he regards as part of his essence, such as his Holy Warrior tattoo and soul-bound Holy Seal, return with him. 128 224
- He has deliberately used death to reset himself between punishing training sessions. 283
- Resurrection restores his body but does not necessarily erase psychological exhaustion. 395
Psychic Power
After receiving the God-Emperor’s Blessing, Li Qinwu develops into a capable Psyker under the Silent One’s guidance.
- Gravity Control — lifts objects, suppresses enemies, redirects weapons, lightens equipment, and enables extreme leaps. 251 575 732
- Psychic Blast — projects compressed psychic force with heat, explosive force, and tearing power. 251 575
- Stasis Spell — creates a barrier that removes the kinetic energy of incoming bullets; Li Qinwu adapts it into an offensive projectile technique. 251
- Psychic Shield — blocks direct attacks, including energy fire and Promethium flames. 576 958
- Warp concealment and mirages — uses Warp Black Cloud and the Silent One’s technique to hide both his appearance and Warp presence from conventional scanners. 958
- Soul Search — forcibly reads fragments of a target’s memories, but the process kills the subject and is intended only for confirmed traitors. 436
Divine Protection and Anti-Corruption
Li Qinwu carries overlapping Imperial and Chaos-derived powers.
- The God-Emperor’s Blessing grants extreme resistance to Warp and Psychic attacks, rendering most direct psychic techniques ineffective against him. 251
- Divine Expulsion immediately erases Khorne corruption, allowing him to retain Khorne’s physical blessing without meaningful contamination. 380
- Holy Oil can directly destroy a Chaos-corrupted soul, as demonstrated on pirate captain Greyhide. 576
- Khorne has assigned him a permanent mission to sacrifice 888 valuable enemies for a second-stage blessing, an obligation Li Qinwu resents. 380 411
Physical Combat and Swordsmanship
Li Qinwu combines surgical augmentation, relentless training, Power Armor, and formal instruction into a brutal close-combat style.
- Defeated the Aeldari Warrior after months of training and 126 fatal prior duels. 288
- Learned foundational forms, attack patterns, parries, and predictive swordsmanship from Songbai. 287 288
- Uses raw strength, armor, and stamina to overwhelm specialized opponents such as the Pale Baron and Stars Chapter Master. 338 865
- Can fight effectively bare-handed, including defeating the commander of the 81st Regiment in a legal duel. 256
- His Power Weapons and high proficiency allow him to cut through armored infantry, Chaos elites, Ork Nobz, and medieval cavalry with overwhelming force. 373 387 411 734
Leadership, Politics, and Improvisation
Li Qinwu is an effective organizer when power, resources, or public legitimacy are at stake.
- Wins General Zeppelin’s favor by sharing credit with his superiors and turning an ordinary inspection comment into an elaborate tactical doctrine. 132
- Builds forces through a merit-point system that governs food, quarters, promotion, and access to privileges. 644
- Uses public donations, religious ceremony, and anti-Xenos rhetoric to become a popular champion before his duel. 292
- Turns the Iron Shield Star nobles’ request for aid into Knight Mech support and marriage alliances for his sons. 1061
Equipment / Weapons / Items

- Holy Seal — Soul-bound relic that increases Energy, grants minor Warp-corruption resistance, and improves Imperial Cult favorability. 128
- True One Armor fragment — A tiny Auramite relic once belonging to the God-Emperor; Li Qinwu stores it rather than expose himself as its owner. 335
- Second Hideout — Battleship-based sanctuary containing an Emperor Shrine, Fabrication Station, Medical Station, Grow Zone, and Level 3 gravity-training area. 349
- Squire Mech — Golden Adamantium-armored mech which Li Qinwu pilots with exceptional synchronization and responsiveness. 448
Relationships
- Lieutenant Rudosen — Early military patron, co-conspirator, and enduring comrade. Li Qinwu remains anxious about Rudosen’s fate after the Spire purges, while Rudosen later serves in his forces for a decade and answers his return with “Loyalty!” 44 190 586
- Miss Nightingale — Political ally in the Campela succession struggle. Their arrangement begins as a military and financial bargain, later becoming a lasting family connection. 197 340 917
