The Shuttle carrying the planetary governor's eldest son arrived at the outskirts of Inquisitor Thraxol's warship and requested permission to land on the deck.
However, Inquisitor Thraxol's flagship did not open its deck. Instead, a nearby laser point-defense turret swiftly aimed at the Shuttle and fired a high-energy laser!
Before the Shuttle could react, the high-energy laser slammed into its hull, vaporizing half of it and blasting the other half into fragments!
Inside the bridge of Inquisitor Thraxol's flagship, the weapons officer reported:
"Confirmed: the Shuttle has been completely destroyed!"
Inquisitor Thraxol nodded and turned his gaze back to the holographic screen.
The planetary governor's furious, terrified face immediately appeared on it.
"Y-you... why did you do this? You madman!!"
Inquisitor Thraxol said coldly:
"That was an accident. The point-defense weapons identified the Shuttle carrying your son as a hostile unit and fired automatically.
You still have four sons left anyway. It doesn't matter. Send your other four sons over!"
The planetary governor's expression twisted. How could he not know that the Inquisitor was deliberately provoking him?
Not only did he know, he even understood why the Inquisitor was targeting him!
"My lord Inquisitor, I don't know what rumors you heard that made you do this, but I must tell you that my family and I are as loyal to the God-Emperor as the sun and moon can attest!
What you're doing is completely unreasonable! It defies all sense!!"
