After leaving the Inquisition office building, he took a grav-car straight to Saints' Avenue.
He arrived at the beginning of Saints' Avenue, where nearly a hundred thousand Saints were waiting to worship!
Ahead of them stood a group of Arbites and Imperial Cult personnel, maintaining order.
Too many people came to Saints' Avenue on pilgrimage. They had to control the flow of people, or several million people packed onto Saints' Avenue could easily cause a stampede with casualties.
So they let them through in batches of roughly one hundred thousand at a time, only releasing the next group after those ahead had passed through.
An Imperial Cult member glanced at his watch, decided the time was about right, and nodded to the Arbites chief beside him.
The Arbites chief shouted:
"Alright, next batch, let them through!!"
Several thousand people forming a human cordon of Arbites and Imperial Cult personnel stepped aside, and the hundred thousand Saints marched forward in an orderly fashion.
They placed their hands over their chests in the Imperial Aquila salute, or carried censers and Holy Candles, murmuring softly as they walked forward devoutly.
From time to time, someone raised their head to look at the statues of Imperial heroes lining both sides of Saints' Avenue.
Each statue of an Imperial hero might have stood as tall as a hundred meters, built from reinforced concrete and marble.
The heroes' statues wore cold, solemn expressions, their gazes fixed upon the distance as though they were watching the Imperium's enemies!
It was these colossal statues that made both sides of Saints' Avenue feel incomparably majestic and grand!
Although the avenue was crowded, everyone remained remarkably orderly. Each person maintained a solemn bearing, praying quietly
