Inside the Golden Road's Shipboard Factory, a facility at once advanced and backward, the Dwarf leader Buni Tansen was arguing with Busi, the priest directly responsible for its operations.
"I really don't understand you humans. Why do you cling to such outdated technology like your lives depend on it?"
What Buni Tansen was complaining about was Busi's insistence on adding semi-automatic modules that slowed production to the automated factory, then assigning workers to monitor their operation.
The entire production line could clearly have been automated from start to finish. A few engineers could have watched the computers and entered production targets, and the factory would have efficiently churned out the parts they needed.
But Busi insisted on adding several efficiency-reducing semi-automatic modules to those highly efficient, fully automated facilities, making workers pull a lever to produce each part.
Busi gave the Dwarf a cold snort.
"You Dwarf xenos cannot behold the radiance of the Omnissiah. Naturally, you cannot comprehend his mysteries!
"You abuse abominable intelligence and put your faith in automation. One day, it will turn against you!"
Buni Tansen shouted angrily in return:
"Fully automating a factory improves efficiency and frees up labor, letting people do more meaningful things!
"But your workers can only waste their lives pulling levers and monitoring those incredibly cheap wetware computers!"
Just like that, their clash of principles erupted into a full-blown argument!
Busi snapped:
"The Adeptus Mechanicus has already attained great heights in the art of manufacturing. It's perfectly normal for a Dwarf like you to fail to understand. After all, Dwarfs are short! Hahaha!"
Busi had gone straight for a personal attack, and Buni Tansen refused to take it. Dwarfs were hot-tempered to begin with.
"Heh, I wouldn't be so sure.
"Normally, you Mechanicus types might really stand taller than us Dwarfs,
