Si Di rushed into the bathroom, and the pained expression on his face finally eased.
The production team had handed out sandwiches and milk that morning.
In a bad mood, Si Di had skipped the sandwich and drunk two cartons of milk.
Liquids moved through his stomach quickly. By the time the mentors went to the practice room to give guidance, he had already needed to use the bathroom.
But out of respect for his teachers, he had held it in.
If his bladder had not been in an emergency, he would have snapped back at Li Si the moment she gave him trouble.
Now that he was in the bathroom, Si Di simply slipped into the innermost stall.
He fished his phone out of the tank.
He turned it on and checked WeChat.
There had been a faint trace of anticipation in his eyes, but when he saw the utterly silent WeChat list, it abruptly turned into disappointment.
Damn it.
His friend request still had not been approved.
Even the master of Passionless Valley in The Return of the Condor Heroes was not as heartless as him!
They had known each other for over three years, and after confirming their relationship, he had called Si Di "baby" for more than four months.
Yet he had deleted him just like that.
Not even a shred of attachment. Where had all that past tenderness and affection gone?
Pah.
Scumbag!
The anger of being toyed with made Si Di's eyes redden. Unwilling to accept it, he tapped the screen and sent two more friend requests.
Still, there was no response.
He took a deep breath, returned to the chat window, held down the record button, and gritted out:
"You bastard, I hope you drop dead tonight! May blood pour from your seven orifices and maggots infest your organs! May you descend to the eighteenth level of hell and be forced by evil ghosts to roll through boiling oil one hundred and eight times!"
"You fucking asshole, you deleted me without a word. You think you're so cool, so arrogant, so fucking amazing, huh?"
"The Earth keeps turning without anyone, and without you, I'll only live better! There are plenty of people chasing me. Who the hell do you think you are? Truth be told, I've wanted to break up with you for ages."
"Pah! Scumbag!"
He was too furious.
If he did not curse him out a little, the bottled-up anger would kill him.
After that string of insults, Si Di finally felt much better.
He had assumed the voice message would not go through.
But after he released his finger, the expected red exclamation mark did not appear.
Instead, with a whoosh—
The message sent successfully.
[Little Si Invincible: ???] [Little Si Invincible: Are you messing with me?] [Little Si Invincible: You deleted me out of nowhere last night, and now you're adding me back today. Don't give me that accidental misclick bullshit. Even a three-year-old wouldn't believe such a lousy excuse!] [Little Si Invincible: What exactly do you take me for? And what do you take our relationship for? You can delete me whenever you want and add me back whenever you want?] [Little Si Invincible: Heh heh, I'm done putting up with this! Let me tell you the truth—I've already found someone to take over as my next love. Officially notifying you: sorry, but as of today, you've been fired!]
After saying that, he decisively tapped the three dots in the upper-right corner.
Delete!
Goodbye!
Elsewhere.
Qin Wei had just tapped to approve the friend request when a little red dot popped up in his list.
He had received a fifty-nine-second voice message.
Qin Wei tapped it open.
"You bastard, I hope you drop dead tonight! You—"
With the phone volume turned all the way up, that teeth-gritted voice exploded like thunder inside the sealed, silent car.
The driver accidentally slammed on the brakes.
Carried by inertia, Chen Wei pitched forward from the passenger seat, only to be yanked back by her seatbelt.
Even Qin Wei's eardrums hurt from the blast. Reacting quickly, he immediately paused the voice message.
When he looked up, he met Chen Wei's inquisitive gaze.
As his manager, Chen Wei had to ask, "What's going on? That sounded like Si Di. Did you add Si Di on WeChat?"
Qin Wei gave an emotionless hum, lifted his eyes, and asked icily, "Do you have earphones?"
Chen Wei dug a pair of earphones out of her bag and handed them to him.
Something was off.
Very, very off.
These two mortal enemies could barely stand the sight of each other under normal circumstances.
And now they had actually added each other on WeChat!
Even though that had just been a vicious curse, Chen Wei still sensed something unusual.
After thinking it over—
She quickly sent a message to the PR team she had kept around for years but never once had cause to use.
[We've got work, we've got work! Hurry up and prepare relationship press releases for Qin Wei and Si Di. Something's not right with these two. They might drop some huge gossip bomb any day now!]
The PR team exploded with excitement.
Qin Wei himself, however, remained frosty.
Only after putting on the earphones did he reopen Si Di's fifty-nine-second voice message.
Before listening, his expression had merely been cold.
After listening, his face no longer looked like a face.
He was practically an iceberg from the Arctic!
Especially when he heard Si Di say that plenty of people were chasing him and that he had wanted to break up long ago, he got so angry that he ripped off the earphones.
Without the audio, there was still the text.
There were five full messages, too many to fit on a single screen.
Qin Wei scrolled down. Once he finished reading them, he forcefully exhaled in fury.
Fine!
Just fine!
The person Si Di meant by his next love was surely Huo Xiao.
Qin Wei narrowed his long, slender eyes dangerously.
[V: Do you know why I deleted you? Si Di, open your eyes and take a good look at who your online boyfriend of three years really is!]
He was too furious.
So furious that he directly tore through the last layer of pretense.
But after the message was sent, a small line of text popped up on the screen.
[Little Si Invincible has enabled friend verification. You are not yet his friend. Please send a friend verification request first. You can chat only after the other party approves.]
Qin Wei: ...
Fuck.
For the first time, the always refined and self-controlled Best Actor Qin was so angry that he wanted to swear.
The driver in the front secretly glanced at him through the rearview mirror and swallowed carefully.
Oh my god.
He had been Best Actor Qin's driver for years.
This was the first time he had found Qin Wei's gaze so terrifying!
A chill seemed to seep out through the cracks in his bones.
The driver swallowed shakily. Just as he was about to ask which residence Qin Wei wanted to return to, before he could open his mouth, he heard Qin Wei say in a near-murderous voice:
"Back to the filming set. Now. Immediately!"
The Limited Idol recording base.
After furiously cursing V out and deleting his WeChat, Si Di should have gotten that anger out of his system.
But he still did not feel good.
They had known each other for so long. He had originally wondered what kind of romantic love story would unfold once they met, but instead—
He had fed his sincere heart to a dog.
Damn it!
Fuck!
Si Di tossed the sealed bag containing his phone back into the water tank and muttered a few choice curses to himself.
He pushed open the stall door and abruptly crashed into a pair of unruly eyes.
Si Di froze. "Huo Xiao? Why are you here?"
Huo Xiao looked at him, a faint glimmer flashing in his eyes. Instead of answering, he asked, "You broke up?"
His voice was inexplicably light.
As though he had just heard news he had long been hoping for.
Si Di sighed, his mood slightly low as he gave a quiet hum. "Since you heard everything just now, there's nothing for me to hide. We've known each other for years. I really never expected things to end like this."
With a sigh—
He raised his head.
A determined light shone in his bright eyes.
With a touch of easy confidence, he said decisively, "A breakup is a breakup. Not dating is perfect—it means I can focus entirely on the competition. Huo Xiao, you'd better be careful. When I get serious, I'm incredibly strong."
Si Di lifted his chin, his bright and open youthfulness as dazzling as spring sunlight.
