Beneath the Rain Tower.
The King of Hell stopped chewing and opened its great mouth. Ren Yin's body, reduced to dust and ashes, along with the corpses of nameless Hanzo loyalists who had died with their eyes still open, was spat out!
Several Black Rods could still be seen amid the ashes.
"So it failed after all." Nagato withdrew the King of Hell, pinching his chin as he pondered.
Konan asked curiously, "What made you suddenly think of using Impure World Reincarnation to create Pain?"
Nagato smiled. "Impure World Reincarnation already grants an immortal body. I thought that if I made them into Pain, they wouldn't need the Naraka Path to be revived. Looks like I was overthinking it."
That was a lie.
Nagato had attempted this because, in the original story, Obito had personally demonstrated how to use those revived through Impure World Reincarnation to create the Six Paths of Pain.
But the samples Obito had chosen were highly unusual: former Jinchuriki resurrected by Yakushi Kabuto through Impure World Reincarnation, with the power of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path as support.
Perhaps that could not be taken as a general rule. That was why Nagato had personally tested it.
Sure enough, that version of the Six Paths of Pain was an exceptional case that could only be born under special conditions!
They had to be former Jinchuriki. Only then would they possess exceptional compatibility with the Tailed Beast Chakra within the Demonic Statue, allowing the Black Rods and the chains of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to forcibly compress the Tailed Beasts' Chakra into the bodies of six reincarnated Jinchuriki and achieve control over them.
In that process, Obito's role had been secondary. The Demonic Statue had been the foundation of that control.
No wonder
