Cheng Lang turned over and glanced at the alarm clock Qin Mu had carefully switched off. He took several deeply satisfied breaths.
After watching mosaic static all night, the system said gloomily, [You're finally awake!]
Cheng Lang could not be bothered with it. He closed his eyes and reminisced about last night's passionate exercise. Pressing his somewhat sore waist and hips, he let out a long sigh and said to his partner with considerable disdain, "If you had a system store, could I buy a Tendon-Soothing Pain-Relief Pill? Then I wouldn't have to ache all day after feeling good."
The system was practically stunned by Cheng Lang's shameless blame-shifting. It was speechless for a long while before remembering to snap back, [The system store isn't for that!]
Cheng Lang gave a couple of indifferent, perfunctory responses.
The system angrily demanded, "Do you even remember your mission? If you keep slacking off and getting distracted, I won't put in a good word for you when the mission ends."
"Relax, relax!" Cheng Lang reassured it lazily. "Don't worry. I won't fail. Have I ever failed before?"
The system gave an indignant snort and logged off directly.
Cheng Lang stretched lazily in bed before slowly getting up and washing his face. The entire villa was utterly quiet; even the sound of running water seemed startlingly clear.
After washing up, Cheng Lang changed into his clothes and strolled downstairs. A rich aroma of food filled the air, while the sizzle of frying ham came from the kitchen. Cheng Lang paused, then wandered over to the kitchen doorway. There, he saw Qin Mu—who had been as ferocious as a beast hunting prey last night—standing before the stove in the pajamas Cheng Lang had deliberately taken out for him yesterday, though they had never been used.
