Or grew more alarmed the longer he looked at the kid before him. His instincts told him this brat would be difficult to deal with. If he was careless, he might even end up suffering a loss.
If he had encountered an opponent like this before, he would have taken his brother and run without hesitation. But when he thought of his younger brother's mohawk, he did not want to flee like this. As a villain, his brother was one of his few remaining ties.
As for himself, he had nothing to defend. Evil was evil, and his bloodlust was a fact. He had a tragic childhood like some protagonist, but he had no desire to be a protagonist.
A violent gale swept in!
Or used teleportation to evade it, then raised his hand and locked down the space around Qian Guang. This was one of his usual methods, compressing and folding an area of space. It had to be said, it worked quite well against small fry.
But against a mage with some real ability, it was not much to look at.
Qian Guang could clearly sense a distinct stagnation in the magical power of the space around him. Yet instead of retreating, he advanced, preparing to rush in for close combat.
Or had no intention of being Zero-brained. What a joke—those little fists made the air whistle when they struck. He was not a short old man like Makarov who turned into a giant at the slightest disagreement. He was genuinely just an ordinary short man.
Qian Guang kept closing in, hurling wind magic and plant magic one after another. Unfortunately, Or's teleportation seemed to have no cooldown at all. Not a single attack hit.
Qian Guang's expression turned grim. He could not catch Or, and because he had been too aggressive, he took a few punches to the back from time to time.
His Sharingan followed Or's teleportation. It had to be said that, in a sense, this guy was a genius too. Qian Guang had seen the magic circuits of spatial magic, and they were incredibly complex—more complex than every spell he had mastered. He needed to watch a little longer before he could imitate them.
But Qian Guang had studied enough already. He had figured out both the distance and cooldown of Or's spatial magic.
Or teleported about seven meters each time, with a cooldown of 0.5 seconds. He had almost managed to attack him just now. He should be able to use teleportation too.
Or felt a chill run down his back. He felt as though something important had left him. Why did this feel so much like when the village bully had stolen the girl he loved right in front of him as a child? The problem was, the girl had been especially willing!
Or condensed a small black sphere in his hand. "Realm Severance!"
He threw the black sphere out.
Warning bells blared wildly in Qian Guang's heart! He used the spatial magic he had just learned to blink into the air, but his lack of familiarity made the distance too short. He then spread his Wind Wings and fled from the dangerous little sphere.
The instant the black sphere touched the ground, it began expanding. A semicircular crater with a radius of two meters appeared on the ground without Zero sound or warning.
Looking at the crater, Qian Guang raised his assessment of spatial magic's destructive power by another level. It was not merely highly mobile—its damage was absurd too.
It was not that he could not make a crater like this, but there was no way the edges would be so smooth. One look told him that anything touched by it would simply vanish.
!!!
Compared to Qian Guang's surprise, Or once again experienced the feeling of the girl he loved leaving him!
Could someone please explain this to him?!
How the hell did this thing know spatial magic?! And it was obviously newly learned—his magic, at that!
Yang Qian and Or stared wide-eyed at each other. But the moment their eyes met, Or wanted to cry. He had successfully fallen into an illusion.
This young man! Bullying an old man with Zero strength to even truss a chicken, and even resorting to tricks!
Black Heaven Guild Hall
Unlike Qian Guang's battle outside, the guild hall had already become a sea of blood!
Mirajane stood in the center, surrounded by all kinds of magical beast corpses. Rogrand's turtle shell had cracked in several places as well.
Mirajane felt an exhilaration she had never experienced before. Although more than half her magic power had been consumed, Rogrand had stopped summoning magical beasts.
"Ohohohohoho, this scene truly suits you, demon." Rogrand felt terrible, but he still could not forget his strange verbal tic.
Nearly all the magical beasts under his control had died. Those small fry had been bitten to death by magical beasts that could not distinguish friend from foe, yet that brat was still standing! And the more she killed, the crazier she became!
Rogrand could barely tell who the villain was anymore. Anyone seeing this scene would think Mirajane was the bad one—provided they did not look at her face.
"Have you run out of tricks? You're so boring. It really does have to be Erza!" Demon Mira looked disappointedly at Rogrand, who was still cowering inside his turtle shell. She had not had enough fun yet, but Mirajane was clearly nearing the edge of being controlled by her demonic instincts.
"Ohohohohohoho, beautiful lady, you are far too powerful, and you are utterly charming like this. I have always wanted a demon for my collection." Rogrand stared at Mirajane's demonic form, his eyes filled with longing and fanaticism.
"Tch! Disgusting."
Demon Mira could not stand his gaze. She was already having a hard time; Mirajane felt increasingly unable to control her body. She had not fully mastered this form yet, and a voice in her heart kept tempting her to dig out his eyes.
Mirajane's tail struck the turtle shell like a blade, widening the cracks across it.
More cold sweat appeared on Rogrand's forehead. He still had one last move, but he could not control it. He did not even know what he would summon.
The last time he had tried it, the aura had been terrifying, and his elder brother had forcibly shut it down.
Mirajane seemed quite interested. Looking at Rogrand's pale, fat face, she felt like a cat toying with a mouse, her tail lashing the turtle shell again and again.
"How about we just call it even? I'm only a merchant." Rogrand still did not want to use that thing. He could not control that creature.
"Oh, a merchant? I hate merchants." Mirajane smiled.
Looking at the turtle shell that was about to break, Rogrand steeled himself. With a dark expression, he directly cut off his own arm and used his blood to draw a magic circle, offering the arm as a sacrifice.
This summoning required a sacrifice. Of course, it did not have to be his own, but Rogrand did not dare go outside. Besides, using someone else as a sacrifice would consume more than ten times as much of his own power.
Demon Mirajane watched him with great interest and did not continue attacking. Normally, the safest choice would be to destroy the ritual and stop it. But it was already good enough that Mirajane had not lost her mind. Expecting her to stop him? She wished he would bring out a few more sacrifices.
A massive spatial rift appeared behind Rogrand. A blood-red aura streamed out through the crack, followed by a huge claw.
Demon Mirajane's originally Zero-interest expression instantly flushed crimson. She sensed a power from the same source as her own, and it was strong. She could not wait to tear this thing apart.
A blood-red creature resembling an alien emerged, with two enormous scythes in place of its hands!
"Screech!"
The alien ground its scythes together and howled at the sky. It had been awakened once more, and this was not the interrupted awakening from years ago. It had descended!
Looking at the creature he had summoned, Rogrand felt no joy whatsoever. He discovered that the faint contractual connection he had just had with it had been instantly erased. The pain in his head nearly made him scream.
Demon Mira was utterly thrilled! Oh, dear God, look what she had found—a wild demon! It was a little ugly, but it was a demon! The kind that sounded incredibly impressive.
Magic power gathered in Mirajane's hands. She smiled at the constantly roaring demon. It was time to show this ugly thing what a demon truly was.
