The Two Meet Again

"Ah, ow, ow, ow, ow!"

Qian Guang opened his eyes to a field of wreckage. The pain wracking his body made him unwilling to move even a finger. Confusion filled his eyes; clearly, he could not remember what had happened for the moment.

Only after a while did Qian Guang's gaze clear. Fluorescent light glowed from his upper body as he healed himself.

"What an embarrassment. I almost got beaten into amnesia. Still, that dragon was kind enough."

Qian Guang looked at the light screen, which should have vanished but remained pitch-black, and sighed. He had truly been afraid of embarrassing himself in front of Little Mir.

"Nassess... Were there really such powerful dragons four hundred years ago?"

During their earlier battle, Qian Guang had been restricted at every turn. His mastery of space was inferior to his opponent's, his Dragon Power was not strong enough, and his other magic had its damage against Nassess halved.

Aside from Acnologia, Nassess was probably the strongest person Qian Guang had ever encountered—excluding Zeref, who had yet to fully recover.

After regaining some strength, Qian Guang sat up and added another layer of black light to the magical barrier. He knew Nassess would be able to sense it.

Sure enough, Nassess appeared before Qian Guang the very next second.

The enormous dragon's body was covered in wounds from their previous battle. He did not possess Qian Guang's terrifying healing ability; even one of the bony spikes on his tail had broken off.

Although Nassess's mastery of space was indeed better than Qian Guang's, Qian Guang was no slouch either. As a result, Nassess's attacks had also dealt significantly reduced damage to him. That was why they had been able to fight for so long despite using space magic with such tremendous destructive power.
