Background

Lucy is the daughter of Jude and Layla Heartfilia. As a child, she treated the doll Michelle as her constant companion, but withdrew from her after Layla’s death; the resulting grief caused Lucy to forget much of their relationship. Jude later recognized Michelle after her rebirth as Imitatia and asked her to become Lucy’s little sister again. 325

In Hargeon, Lucy sought a path into Fairy Tail but was deceived by Bora, the fraudulent “Fire Dragon.” Though briefly affected by Bora’s charm magic, she recognized the enchantment and regained her judgment. Her encounter with Natsu and Happy led to Bora’s exposure and her decision to join the genuine Fairy Tail. 45 47

Lucy officially received Fairy Tail’s pink guild mark shortly afterward. She rented a house next door to Qian Guang and Mirajane, quickly becoming part of the guild’s daily chaos. 49 53
