Nassess stared blankly at Selene as she kept biting him, his eyes full of pain, guilt, and affection.

He had never imagined that the protection he believed in would hurt Selene so deeply.

"Say something, Nassess! Say that everything was because of your selfishness! That it was all because you coveted the position of Dragon King!!!"

All kinds of magic bombarded Nassess. Selene's eyes were bloodshot as she relentlessly questioned him, as though only hearing him say what she felt could truly reassure her.

Selene was no fool. A woman capable of such ambition was sharper than anyone else. Over four hundred years, she had figured out many things; she simply had not wanted to believe them.
