A figure appeared behind Qian Guang.
"Was that your family? What a pity—you didn't get to see him one last time. But don't worry, I'll send you down to keep him company soon." With a sinister grin, he kicked Qian Guang.
Bang!
The powerful blow sent Qian Guang crashing into a burning house. He turned his gaze toward the figure.
A Mohawk, arms so long they nearly reached his knees—it was nauseating to look at. He was also carrying valuables looted from the village on his back.
"Seriously, the boss told me to collect valuables, but I found a little brat instead. Remember this, brat—the one killing you is Banna. Hehehehe." Banna was thrilled, a blood-red gleam shining from his eyes as he stared at Qian Guang.
But when he saw the hatred in Qian Guang's eyes and the faintly emerging tomoe within them, he felt a little afraid. He roared angrily, "Hey, brat, what kind of look is that? Stop staring at me!"
Banna raised his hand, and a green magic circle appeared, followed by a Hurricane.
The wind swept flames toward Qian Guang without the slightest concern for the small figure standing in the middle of the road. Qian Guang's eyes hurt more and more as he charged toward the old man like a madman.
Bang!
He was smashed into the flames again, but this time Qian Guang protected his grandfather. When he appeared before Banna again, there was only hatred in his eyes, along with those eerie Two-Tomoe Sharingan.
As Qian Guang looked at Banna, he suddenly felt the world slow down. The movements that had seemed so fast before now crawled like snails, and he could even see the pattern of magic power circulating inside Banna's body.
Qian Guang even felt that he could use the wind magic he had just seen.
He tried to imitate it, and a dark green magic circle appeared beside his hand. But his control was poor, and he blew himself away instead.
Even so, Banna's pupils shrank. He grinned viciously. "Monster, what a monster. You learned my magic after seeing it once? Hey, your eyes should fetch a good price. Come, let me teach you! This is how wind is used!"
Banna hurled several Wind Blades and charged forward at the same time.
Qian Guang, who had just been blown away by his own wind, reacted instantly. Watching the slow-moving Wind Blades, he rolled aside and picked up the small herb-gathering knife lying nearby.
But his body still could not keep up. After dodging several Wind Blades, Banna appeared before him again. "What are you looking at, monster?!"
Banna kicked at him. He seemed excited, perhaps because he felt that killing a genius would be an accomplishment.
Qian Guang crossed his arms and deflected as much force as he could, sliding back several steps before coming to a stop.
Banna's expression turned serious. "How could a monster like you exist in this little town? That kick was enhanced with magic power."
Yang Qian felt the pain in his body slowly fading, while the skin burned by the fire gradually repaired itself. The Sage Body really was powerful in its early stages.
Qian Guang was calm now. He had magic power and a strong body, but no offensive ability. He could only stall for time to copy more of the other man's wind magic, or rely on the small knife in his hand. But when Qian Guang saw a seven-colored light, he knew he had a third option.
Banna did not dare rush in for the moment. He bombarded Qian Guang from a distance with all kinds of magic. Getting caught and stabbed a few times by accident would not feel good. He was a pervert, not a masochist.
"Hehehehe. Aren't you able to learn magic, brat? Come on, uncle will teach you magic—as long as you're still alive." Magic circles kept lighting up in Banna's hands. His eyes were wide, his tongue hanging out. He looked exactly like a lunatic.
Qian Guang's body and eyes could both react in time. He constantly dodged through the bombardment while grinding the Seven-Colored Lingzhi as finely as possible in his right hand, then using the wind to send it behind Banna. But compared to Banna, Qian Guang absorbed far more, and he could barely maintain the Sharingan.
Because of the smell of smoke in the air, Banna did not sense anything wrong. He licked his lips. "That little rabbit can really run."
As he spoke, he fired an air cannon toward the old man.
!
Qian Guang stopped dodging. Just before the wind projectile arrived, he stood in front of his grandfather. Seeing this, Banna's eyes widened in excitement.
"Die, die, die!!!"
He bombarded Qian Guang madly. Qian Guang had already deactivated the Sharingan and hid in a pit, doing everything he could to protect his grandfather. The hatred in his eyes only deepened.
"Hehehe, brat, your heart isn't tough enough... huh? Where's my magic power?"
The magic circles could no longer be maintained. Banna finally realized what was happening and whispered in terror.
Qian Guang's back was a bloody blur. Once the bombardment stopped, the light in his eyes intensified. He carefully set down his grandfather, endured the agonizing pain, and rushed out of the smoke. At a glance, he saw Banna breaking out in a cold sweat.
"Hey, bastard, isn't it my turn now?"
"Tch, brat, who do you think I am?! I'm the third-in-command of the Black Heaven Guild!"
Seeing Qian Guang's miserable state, along with those eyes and the firelit backdrop, he looked like a demon crawling out of hell. Banna suppressed his unease and charged forward. He could not accept being inferior to a brat, especially a brat who was about to die.
As Banna swung his fist and charged over, the Sharingan's color became even more vivid. A smile appeared on Qian Guang's face for the first time, though it was a somewhat tragic smile.
He ducked beneath the punch and stabbed Banna in the abdomen.
"Ah!" Banna cried out in pain, but he did not care. The fear in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by a trace of cruel delight.
"Die, die!" He wildly swung his fists at Qian Guang's back.
Even with the Sage Body, Qian Guang did not feel good. He spun the small knife around, and a magic circle lit up in his left hand.
Boom!
The massive explosion separated the two of them. Banna did not possess Qian Guang's powerful body and rolled across the ground. Moreover, Qian Guang had an accurate grasp of the human body—the stab had struck a major artery in Banna's abdomen.
"Damn brat!"
Banna no longer had the strength to get up. He had climbed to the position of third-in-command through magic power alone. Greedy and cowardly, he usually hid in the back to attack from afar. Fighting Qian Guang desperately was already the highlight of his life.
Qian Guang was not doing well either. His back and chest were both mangled masses of flesh and blood. The Sage Body required a great deal of energy, leaving Qian Guang terribly hungry. The stinging in his eyes had already made it hard for him to see clearly.
But Qian Guang still struggled to stand. He grabbed a handful of herbs and stuffed them into his mouth, while a magic circle lit up in his right hand. A Wind Blade flew toward Banna's head.
Only after Banna truly died did Qian Guang finally relax. Then came the uncontrollable nausea, misery, and heartache. He had been in this world for three years and killed plenty of beasts, but this was the first time he had killed a person.
Qian Guang collapsed onto the ground and looked at the old man beside him. "Hey, Grandpa, it's over. If I'd known, I wouldn't have gone out to gather herbs."
Qian Guang blamed himself deeply. He looked at the village and kept crying. Perhaps if he had not gone gathering herbs, he would have become another victim of the inferno, but at least he could have seen his grandfather one last time.
Qian Guang was exhausted, but he still slowly crawled to his feet and went from house to house, gathering whatever had not been swallowed by the fire, even if it was only a piece of cloth.
Qian Guang brought everyone's belongings to an open patch of ground and fell into a deep sleep. In his dream, everyone was there, and the village was as lively as ever.
