"My... eyes?" Alzack was stunned by Zoro's seemingly nonsensical question.
He instinctively touched his eyes. His vision was exceptional, the foundation of becoming a master marksman. He did not understand what could possibly be wrong with his eyes.
Zoro seemed to see through his confusion. Shaking his head, he continued in his uniquely direct, essence-cutting manner. "I'm not talking about those flesh-and-blood eyes of yours that can only see things. I'm asking you, what are you thinking about at the moment you pull the trigger?"
"I... of course I'm thinking about how to aim at the target, calculate the wind speed and distance, and make sure the bullet hits the bullseye." Alzack answered as if it were only natural.
"Wrong." Zoro's answer was simple and direct, completely denying the shooting principles Alzack had always taken pride in.
"A true strong person, before he fires, has already clearly 'seen' in his mind the entire scene—the bullet leaving the muzzle, tearing through the air, and finally striking the target's vital point with precision."
"Th-This..." Alzack and Bisca were both left somewhat dazed. It sounded far too mystical.
"You won't understand just by talking about it." Zoro stood up and sheathed Enma. "Come on. Shoot at me with your fastest speed. Use every trick you have. If you can leave even a single bullet hole in me, you win."
Those words instantly set Alzack's blood boiling. This was not merely a lesson—it was a test!
"Alright! Mr. Zoro, please be careful!"
Alzack retreated several dozen meters, widening the distance between himself and Zoro. He raised his beloved gun, Hurricane, and his expression became incomparably focused.
Bullet Magic: Sunlight Shot!
When he pulled the trigger, the muzzle no longer fired a single bullet, but a dense barrage of dozens of light bullets that spread outward like sunlight! The light bullets were incredibly fast and covered an enormous area, a move specially designed to deal with high-speed targets.
Yet Zoro's response to this scattered attack, enough to leave any opponent scrambling, once again shocked everyone present.
Slowly, he closed his one eye.
He gave up his vision.
Only at the instant that dazzling rain of light was about to swallow him did his body begin to move, with movements so slight yet so incomparably precise.
A subtle shift of his footing.
A simple twist of his waist.
A casual tilt of his head.
With his eyes closed, he moved effortlessly through that dense, deadly rain of light. Every light bullet seemed to have made an agreement with him, brushing past his body, the hem of his clothes, and his hair, yet not a single one truly touched him.
Rather than dodging the barrage, it looked as though the barrage itself was actively making way for him.
Alzack was so shocked his jaw nearly dropped. He frantically pulled the trigger, trying to seal off Zoro's movements with even denser firepower, but the result remained the same. That man was like a ghost that did not exist in this dimension; every attack simply "passed" through him.
Only when the magazine was empty did Alzack finally stop, gasping for breath. Zoro, meanwhile, still stood where he was, without even a speck of dust on him.
He slowly opened his eye and looked at the blank-faced Alzack before explaining,
"I'm not dodging your bullets."
"I'm dodging your 'killing intent,' your 'intent.'"
"The moment you decide to fire, your gaze has already locked onto my position. Before you pull the trigger, every muscle in your body is preparing for that movement. And your killing intent exposes your intention to attack without the slightest concealment. To my Observation Haki, all of it is as obvious as a bonfire in the night."
"I don't even need to look with my eyes to clearly 'know' from what angle each of your bullets will come, and where it will ultimately strike."
He pointed at Alzack's eyes, then at his own chest.
"Until you learn to use 'this' to see the world, rather than relying only on 'this,' your bullets will never hit a true strong person."
