Mera hadn't expected that answer. She had thought Ke Chen was going to take her to find Atlantis's trident, which would have carried the same authority.

But... clearly, the Trident of Neptune was better, because it was the ceremonial weapon of the god who ruled the seas.

Ke Chen nodded and led Mera straight into the cave.

The reason he had asked Diana was to see whether she could use this chance to become a true god.
