Clone or Original?

"I wonder whether the Darkseid who died was a clone or the original."

At the final banquet on Themyscira, Ke Chen suddenly thought of this, but then shook his head. Whether the dead Darkseid had been the original or a clone no longer mattered.

What mattered was that he was dead. It just made Ke Chen laugh whenever he thought about it. Every time Darkseid was defeated, people would blame it on the fact that it had been Darkseid's clone.

That both demonstrated Doomsday's overwhelming strength and salvaged a bit of dignity for the name Darkseid, keeping him from becoming like the invincible Galactus of the Marvel Universe.

Everyone knew Galactus was invincible, yet everyone could beat him up. Did that make sense?

It also left endless room for speculation. For example, if Doomsday faced Darkseid's true body, could he win? Could Superman defeat Darkseid's true body?

Naturally, there was no answer, because Darkseid's original body would never lose. If he lost, then it was a clone!
