Sensing danger approaching, Youquan looked toward the window just as a bolt of lightning tore across the sky, illuminating a tall figure standing outside.

The figure outside the window vanished, appearing beside Youquan's bed in the next instant.

After seeing who it was, Youquan did not relax her guard in the slightest. She frowned. "Sect Master Huo? What are you doing here?"

Huo Kun gazed at Youquan's face, lost in reminiscence. After staring for a while, he slowly said, "You look more and more like your mother. What I didn't expect was that your martial soul would actually be inherited from your father."

As Huo Kun's hand reached toward her, Youquan circulated her Soul Force while gathering all her Soul Power in her feet.

Her Soul Force condensed into a massive handprint that struck toward Huo Kun's head. Caught completely off guard, Huo Kun was sent staggering back dozens of steps by the sudden Soul Force attack, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Youquan ignored Huo Kun and used Explosive Step to flee at top speed. Explosive Step was the only Movement Battle Skill she could currently use. By gathering battle qi—Soul Power—in her feet and using the opposing force from the ground, she could move at high speed.

While dodging the fireballs, Youquan fled toward the distant shadows.

"You truly have some skill. I'm done playing with you. I'd better kill you directly, lest more trouble arise."

Youquan quietly circulated her Soul Force, preparing to launch another attack at Huo Kun to buy time for her escape. Though the chance was slim, waiting helplessly for death had never been her style.

Besides, she had yet to become a peak expert of the continent. She had yet to go to the Great Thousand World to find her teacher.

Seeing Youquan flee in such a sorry state, Huo Kun smiled and prepared to unleash his final soul skill, completely finishing off the little girl before him.

Just as Huo Kun thought victory was assured and lowered his guard, Youquan once again condensed a Soul Handprint and sent it hurtling toward him.

Youquan turned around. The instant she recognized the figure, she stopped running. "Nanny!"

Nanny clung tightly to Huo Kun, her hoarse voice carrying through the night. "Miss! Run! Don't look back!"

"Huo Kun! I'm your target! Don't hurt Nanny!" Youquan shouted furiously.

"You old thing! How dare you get in my way!" Huo Kun ignored Youquan's cries, circulating Soul Power through his hand as he struck toward Nanny's head.

Nanny tilted her head aside to dodge, and Huo Kun's palm landed on her back. She spat out a large mouthful of blood, yet still held Huo Kun tightly.

"Miss, Nanny won't be able to take care of you anymore. You must cultivate diligently, grow stronger, and protect yourself." Nanny spoke through tears. Before Youquan could say anything else, Nanny's body rapidly began to swell.

"You old thing, you actually want to self-destruct? Get away from me!" Huo Kun attacked Nanny again.

"Nanny!" Youquan's eyes widened as she stared in disbelief at what was happening before her.
