"Yes, Yandong County is famous for its abundant catches. If your transportation were a little more developed, it would have been upgraded to a city long ago."
"I think it's only a matter of time. Anglers from out of town love going to your area. There are plenty of catches, few fishing boats, and the waters have remained very natural."
"Lu Ao, how big is the boat you bought? Are you going to sail it back? The port conditions in Yandong County seem fairly average."
"Not that big." Lu Ao swallowed the food in his mouth and added, "It's 26.7 meters long and weighs seventy-seven tons in total."
"That's already a large fishing boat. It probably won't be very convenient to dock it over there. Have you considered coming to the city to develop?"
"Not for now. Things are fine over there. There aren't many boats, so it can barely fit."
The natural conditions of Yandong County's port were poor.
Generally speaking, building a dock required open terrain, flat land, deep and broad waters, channels that were not prone to silting, and preferably a sheltered harbor to make docking convenient.
Yandong County's port had none of those conditions, nor did it have a corresponding economic hinterland to support it.
That was why it was extremely difficult to build a large port in Yandong County. Even if they spent a fortune, they might not be able to build one.
The county was not particularly wealthy, and no one was truly willing to put great effort into construction.
Most officials served one term and left after completing it. Few were willing to plan something so arduous and thankless.
All these factors left Yandong County relatively underdeveloped as a whole.
Everyone felt somewhat regretful when they heard that Lu Ao was going back.
