"Not selling." Lu Ao refused outright. "I haven't produced many here. If your fans want goose eggs, they can just buy them at the market."
"That was what I tactfully told her too. But first, she's one of my die-hard fans, so I didn't want to discourage her too much. Second, she's pregnant and said she wants to eat goose eggs to nourish her body, so she can give birth to a fair, chubby little baby. Once I heard that, I couldn't refuse her."
"What does being pregnant have to do with eating goose eggs?"
"It's a custom. Some place or another has this custom that says eating goose eggs means the baby will be fair and plump, and won't get eczema, jaundice, or anything like that. I don't know whether it's true either. Just take it with a grain of salt."
Qi Yan said honestly, "Since my fan wants them, I came over to ask for her. You can charge more if you want. I'll help you mail them out when the time comes. She doesn't need many, just three to five eggs to satisfy her craving."

He thought for a moment and said, "How about this? Come feed the geese with me tomorrow, and we'll see how many unfertilized goose eggs there are. We'll sell her however many we have."
