"We can't use nets for this. King Crabs are deep-sea crabs, probably living more than five hundred meters below the surface. There aren't nets that long, so we mainly use trap cages."
"Now, we put trap cages filled with fish and other bait down on the seafloor. Once the King Crabs crawl inside, they can't get back out."
Lin Qiyan asked, "Is it similar to a ground trap?"
"The principle is about the same, but the trap cages for King Crabs are round, while ground traps are long," Captain Yang said. "You'll see in a moment."
Hearing that, Lin Qiyan looked forward to seeing the King Crabs even more.
Their small boat moved quickly, and they reached their destination in just over half an hour.
The trap cages were mainly connected to buoys. Once they spotted the buoys, they knew which cages belonged to them.
Seeing all sorts of buoys floating across the sea, Lin Qiyan was somewhat surprised. He filmed as he said, "With so many buoys, there must be a lot of King Crabs around here, right?"
"Not necessarily. How much we catch still depends on luck. Sometimes, we put down a whole stretch of cages, but if the haul isn't good, each cage might only have one or two crabs—or none at all." Captain Yang then joked, "But with Lu Ao here today, we'll definitely have a huge haul."
Lu Ao's reputation had spread far and wide. Captain Yang had heard of him too, which was why he had readily agreed to bring them here.
Lu Ao said, "Let's hope for a plentiful catch."
"Hahaha, a plentiful catch it is."
As they spoke, their boat had already stopped beside one of the buoys.
Captain Yang waved a hand and introduced the area to them. "This whole stretch
