Ye Si knocked lightly on the door. Lu Ao, who was sitting beside the crib, snapped back to attention, his brows and eyes immediately coming alive. "You're here? What are we doing today?"

"Nothing special." Ye Si smiled. "We came to weigh the little one and check on his growth."

Lu Ao moved aside. "He's been doing well these past two days. His eating, elimination, and everything else have been normal."

"Let me take a look first."

The little fellow had just woken up. Seeing Lu Ao move, his tail snapped out and immediately wrapped around Lu Ao's wrist, coiling tightly around it and refusing to let him go.

Lu Ao lowered his head. The little fellow met his gaze, Lu Ao's reflection filling his green eyes.

"Yiya—" The little fellow opened his mouth, seeming to ask where Lu Ao was going.

"Big sister is going to examine you." Lu Ao stroked his tail and said gently, "Be good for now. I'll play with you later."

The little fellow did not understand. His tail remained wrapped around Lu Ao, unwilling to let go.

After spending the past few days together, the little fellow had become especially attached to Lu Ao. If Lu Ao was not around, he would cling to Song Zhou instead. If neither was available, he would whimper and act cute.

Lu Ao and Little Dragon engaged in a battle of wits. Despite all his coaxing and persuading, Little Dragon stubbornly refused to loosen his tail.
