Three days later, Manus sighed as he looked at the research, which had made no progress whatsoever.

It was not as though he had gained nothing over those three days. At the very least, he had mastered the ability to open doors between the Material World and the Mental World, and had further worked out a way to use the Mental World to travel long distances through the Material World.

The specific process was to use souls and Mental Particles to leave behind, at a certain location, a door connecting the Mental World and the Material World.

That way, after entering the Mental World from elsewhere, he could directly open that door and emerge at its location in the Material World.

Such doors could exist for a long time, but the limit on how many could exist at once depended on his Soul Capacity Limit. Each additional door required twice the Soul Capacity Limit of the previous one. If the first door required a Soul Capacity Limit of 1, then the subsequent requirements were 2, 4, 8...

Moreover, the Soul Capacity Limit needed to sustain each door was calculated independently. Thus, maintaining two doors at once required 3, followed by 7, 15, 31...

The value of this method of teleportation lay in the fact that the soul consumption per trip was negligible, and the distance between the departure and arrival points in the Material World had absolutely no effect on that consumption.

At the same time, Manus already had vast quantities of souls stored in the Mental Dimension. In other words, for him, the first step of teleportation—entering the Mental Dimension from the Material Dimension—could be disregarded.

Manus could keep the Dimensional Anchor active here, let absolutely no one leave, and still use this method
