Just as he had said, this craft had been discarded before it ever became popular even in ancient times. It was an utterly worthless antiquated technique.

According to Feilite, magical fabric in the broad sense covered a vast range. If one wanted something cheap, ordinary materials such as wool, linen, castor fiber, and linden bark could all be made into magical fabric. They only needed to be soaked and dyed with magical materials.

However, Feilite did not know much about the process for making those dyes. He only knew that dye made from the shells of Color-Changing Giant Snails was among the finest, while minerals and flowers could also be used to make dyes.

If it were merely extracting pigment to make dye, Feilite naturally would have known the process. But clearly, not every dye could turn ordinary fabric into a tool that could be used like a wand to assist spellcasting.

More advanced magical fabric was made as Manus had previously imagined: using the fur or hides of Magical Creatures, then adding magical runes through weaving, painting, and all manner of other techniques.

The cost of such magical fabric—or rather, magical equipment—could be raised almost without limit.

According to Feilite, his teacher had once told him that one of her family's ancestors had made a robe woven from Dragon Heartstring. It had supposedly possessed power far beyond that of a wand.

"A robe... woven from Dragon Heartstring?"

Even Manus was somewhat stunned by that wizard's audacity.

There was nothing inherently wrong with using Dragon Heartstring for weaving. Sheep intestines could be made into thread, so why not Dragon Heartstring?
