Setting the box on the desk, Manus took out its contents one by one—Mrs. Margaret's notes, the notes of previous generations, fabric samples, a set of brass needles in various sizes and shapes, an old dragonhide measuring tape...

As the last item was removed, Manus looked at the completely empty box. A Magical Aura lit up within it.
Magical Aura was not omnipotent. It could not detect every kind of magic; it could only detect magical effects that were not concealed in the first place, or at least not concealed on the level of Magical Aura.
