Manus blew away the wood shavings from the branch he had trimmed.

"How could we do that? The current Seekers aren't ready to step down yet. Even if we applied when school starts next year, we probably wouldn't get approved."

Severus shrugged, speaking with lingering apprehension.

"And when would we have the time? We have classes, the coursework you assign us, and electives starting next year. If we had Quidditch training on top of that... even another twenty-four hours in the day probably wouldn't be enough."

Manus smiled and shook his head, picking up the finished Sleipnir to inspect it.

It was a very plain ash Broomstick, bearing no traits of any House. Its only adornments matched its name: three streamlined decorations on each side of the broom's tail, plus the footrests on either side, making a total of eight "legs."

The three Broomsticks made this time had been named before they were created and did not belong to any particular House. Which House got which Broomstick would depend on who was quickest to grab the name they liked.

Setting Sleipnir aside, Manus looked at the two of them.

"You want Broomsticks too? Flying with the help of an external object isn't really safe or reliable. You'd be better off using a Flight Spell. It's a little slower, but you can use it alongside other magic..."
