Finally Meeting

"Hmm? That was unusual. Was he asking to meet in person and discuss things properly?"

Manus looked at the letter in surprise.

He corresponded with quite a few wizards, but there had only been one who had taken as many protective measures as this person had.

Out of respect for that researcher, he had never tried to establish contact beyond their letters.

And now the other party had actually taken the initiative to ask to meet him?

"Because of the Meteorite Crystal?"

Manus glanced at the letter. The reason the other party had given for wanting to speak with him in person was the meteorites and the Meteorite Crystal Manus had brought out, but he felt there had to be more to it than that.

Unless the reason the other party had set up such a complicated process and cut himself off from the world in the first place was to search for Meteorite Crystal, he should not have broken his original plan merely for something so rare...

Well, when it came to wizards, it was not entirely impossible.

No matter what, Manus was interested in the invitation. He did indeed want to meet the other party and discuss matters across various academic fields.

They could discuss such things through letters, but neither the frequency nor the amount of information exchanged could match the effectiveness of a true face-to-face discussion.

It was just the timing...

"Two weeks from now?"

Manus frowned slightly. It was not that he had anything to do then; he simply found it strange. Normally, would someone capable of long-distance spatial travel send a letter to arrange a meeting two weeks later?

Was that not dragging things out a little too much?

Still, that oddity merely made Manus more cautious when he set out two weeks later.
