Manus was absolutely certain that he had not felt an extra duplicate appear within his own system at the time.
So the notion that everything he had experienced was the result of altered time did not apply to Manus!
Combined with the temporal changes Maximilian had caused before, which had likewise not affected Manus, he had a slight guess about the current situation...
But to verify that guess, Manus would need to make some preparations. If he guessed wrong, the power of time could be terrifying.
Better wait until he had protective measures in place.
"Senior King!"
Manus stopped and looked at Barty Crouch running toward him... though more accurately, he should be called Barty Crouch Jr. His name was exactly the same as his father's, so Jr. or Junior had to be added to distinguish them.
"Crouch?"
"Yes. Um, do you have time today?"
Barty Jr. asked, slightly out of breath.
Manus glanced at him. Barty Jr. had tried to find him over the past few days, but Manus's coursework was so busy that he needed to use a Time-Turner. Even if someone wanted to squeeze into the gaps, there had to be gaps to squeeze into.
Today...
Manus calculated that there were still more than ten minutes before classes officially began.
"Come with me. We can talk for a bit."
Although they had not managed to establish any proper communication during this time, their few brief exchanges had allowed Manus to notice some clues.
At first, he had assumed Barty Jr. had approached him because of his reputation, but later he realized that even Barty Jr.'s interest in his reputation did not come from his own true intentions.
Then he would see what the boy actually wanted.
After turning into a corridor ahead, Manus spoke to a portrait.
