Barty Jr. obediently admitted his mistake, but he still refused to accept Mandrake as such a special case. In a fight, it really did come down to hurling Dark Magic at each other.

Who would carry Mandrake around for no reason, and a living one at that? Were they tired of living?

Manus saw this and curled his lips slightly.

"Banishing Charm is not the only spell that can be used in combat. Knockback Jinx can also be used outside combat. Whether something is combat or not is not the dividing line—their nature is. The former causes displacement, while the latter applies impact."

With a wave of his wand, the Mandrake in Barty Jr.'s arms returned to Manus and turned into a sheet of paper. One became two, two became four; they folded and Transfigured...

A small dueling platform took shape on the table. Two paper-folded young wizards stood at either end, each holding a wand.

"The battle you imagine may look like this, but the battle you actually face may look like this."

As soon as he finished speaking, the paper folded and Transfigured again. The two young wizards who had been facing each other were now pressed back-to-back, surrounded by paper-folded Werewolves, Dark Wizards, Trolls...

"Watch how they use Banishing Charm and Knockback Jinx."

Barty Jr.'s mouth fell slightly open as he watched the paper figures actually start "fighting." The Werewolves and Trolls swung their claws and clubs with none of the clumsy stiffness of a performance, and the Dark Wizards even cast Killing Curses!

"These are illusions created through Transfiguration."

Manus paused the scene to remind him, then allowed the battle to continue.

Knockback Jinx did not necessarily have to target the enemy directly, nor did Banishing Charm have to be used to
