As a History of Magic class came to an end, Manus stretched his wrist, nudged Bellows awake, and refocused most of his attention on the Mental World.
At this moment, there was only one Acromantula in the Mental World. Manus had named it Latiku, after a spider goddess from North America. Latiku was also known as Asibikaashi, Spider Woman, and Spider Grandmother. Incidentally, she was also the origin of the Dreamcatcher.
It was, in a way, Manus's commemoration of the original source of this special silk thread.
Latiku possessed both the ability to spin silk and produce venom, and Manus had incorporated it into the Soul System—he was not entirely comfortable letting a spider queen independently control an entire Acromantula colony.
Of course, continuing to call it a spider queen was no longer quite appropriate. Manus had designed two reproductive systems for it. It was the spiders' father, as well as their mother.
This design made Latiku's abdomen exceptionally large. Once it truly grew and matured, it might look somewhat bloated.
But there was no need to worry that such a body would affect Latiku's mobility, because its Life Essence had already been altered by the Soul System.
Latiku could precisely regulate its two reproductive systems, controlling whether the eggs it produced were female or male, and whether they possessed silk-spinning abilities, venom-secreting abilities, or both, though not in upgraded forms.
In other words, it could produce ordinary Acromantulas.
As for both abilities being present and both being upgraded, an ordinary Acromantula's body simply could not withstand it. Latiku could only bear it because it had undergone a transformation.
Manus had also considered allowing Latiku to gain even deeper control over its reproductive systems. In the future, it might even be able to adjust and design traits and abilities for
