Manus looked at the letter before him, understanding dawning on his face.
So that was it. Limbo Prison, Misty Illusion—the strange world had been this place...
Manus had searched through many books regarding that peculiar world without finding a definite answer. Afterward, he had explored it several times, but aside from measuring the positional changes caused by traveling back and forth between the two worlds, he had made no substantive progress.
After thinking it over, Manus had described it in a letter to Nicolas and asked him about it. After all, the other man was over six hundred years old; his knowledge of the world was not something Manus could match simply by reading a few books about it.
To his surprise, Manus received Nicolas's reply just three days later—the fastest letter he had ever received from him.
