Working at the Ministry of Magic was indeed becoming increasingly dangerous, but resigning from the Ministry to become Hogwarts's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor... for a moment, they could not tell which option was more dangerous.
After all, in the past three years, aside from Hicks, who had fled after teaching only a few classes, the best outcome among their Defense Against the Dark Arts professors had been disappearing without any word of whether they were alive or dead.
By comparison, with so many Ministry employees, the actual number of deaths made its mortality rate seem rather unimpressive.
