Animagus transformation was a thorough, complete transformation. Not even the keen senses of magical creatures could tell the difference.
Forget a Werewolf's sense of smell; even Dementors could not distinguish a wizard in Animagus form.

Then it was not merely transformation in the physical sense, changing one's appearance, scent, and other characteristics.
Manus was somewhat surprised. He had not seen that in the books. Of course, it was also possible that after reading the records on Animagus transformation, he had dismissed the magic and had not looked for further information.
Thinking of this, Manus reflected on himself. He should not have taken some of this world's magic for granted as being so simple.
Clearly, this magic was one of that exceptionally special one percent in this world. It had even entered his field of vision long ago, yet he had overlooked it.
After reflecting on himself, Manus still had no intention of learning this magic himself.
Even a complete transformation could not change the fact that this magic only allowed one to become a single ordinary animal. Moreover, anyone with a Patronus Charm could basically be certain that their Animagus form was their Patronus.
For Manus, if there was something that specifically required him to turn into a Raven... why would he not simply send Huginn or Muninn instead?
The discussion outside continued. The three of them seemed to have turned the Clock Tower's first floor into a place to chat and had no intention of leaving.
From their conversation, he learned that as long as they could complete Animagus transformation, they could remain by Lupin's side while he transformed into a Werewolf. A Werewolf would not attack innocent animals during the weak and painful period of its transformation.
They had been working toward this
