Next came the Restoration Potion with Beauty Potion added...
"What's this?"
The Restoration Potion was finished, still just a tiny vial about the size of the last joint of a thumb.
An ordinary Restoration Potion looked like a vial of liquid gold, and the limbs it restored looked golden too-a sight that made people frown.
With Beauty Potion added to this version, Manus had expected it to be the color of blood. That would probably have produced the Restoration Potion he had imagined, restoring limbs that looked like normal human ones.
Yet the vial in Manus's palm now looked like mercury, though it lacked mercury's texture. When he gently shook it, it still moved like water.
"So the Beauty Potion's effect is just to turn the restored golden limbs silver?"
Although he knew the boost Beauty Potion gave to Beauty Potions should amount to more than a simple change of color, Manus couldn't help speculating. After all, the Restoration Potion's effects were already perfect.
Aside from their odd color, the limbs restored by the Restoration Potion genuinely worked, and the effects weren't temporary.
Manus had tested the former point on rabbits' eyes. The surgery had been performed under anesthesia throughout, so none of the rabbits had felt any pain during the process, and their vision remained normal after golden eyeballs had been restored.
As for the latter, the rabbit with golden eyeballs was still hopping merrily around the Creature Garden. After so much time, the possibility that the potion's effects were only temporary and might suddenly wear off was already extremely low.
Under these circumstances, what further functional improvements could adding Beauty Potion make to the restored limbs?
Restore missing limbs to a hundred and twenty percent?
Strengthen those missing limbs?
None of that fell within the Restoration Potion's scope.
