Ren put away the Fallen Heart Flame and breathed a sigh of relief. He turned his gaze to the bamboo scroll. "Forget it... Nurturing flames takes time and patience. I can't rush it! I'd better study the Artifact Refining Art, so I won't be stuck when I find good materials later!"
He unrolled the bamboo scroll and read the text, immersing himself in the Artifact Refining Dao.
Of course, Ren did not neglect his cultivation while studying the Artifact Refining Art. Absorbing Spiritual Qi had become second nature to him. He refined it through the Jade Pure Sage Art into pure mana, which he used to temper the Replica Chaos Bell and the Green Duckweed Sword.
His Nihility Devouring Flame and Three Thousand Burning Flame were tempered by the mana as well, growing steadily stronger. The process was extremely slow, but it was safe.
As long as he kept at it, who knew what the two flames might eventually become?
And so Ren settled into a routine: tempering his flames, refining his Spirit Treasures, and studying the Artifact Refining Art each day.
A year passed in the blink of an eye.
Throughout that year, Ren absorbed Spiritual Qi every day, using it to refine his Spirit Treasures and temper his flames while he studied the Artifact Refining Art.
He also visited the Library Pavilion several times to read its collection.
The Library Pavilion on Kunlun Mountain was nothing like the one on Jade Spring Mountain. Its countless books dazzled Ren.
Reading them one by one would take an untold amount of time, and understanding them would take even longer.
Worse, Ren found Kunlun Mountain's Library Pavilion to be a complete mess. There seemed to be no librarian. Books, notes, and materials were all jumbled together...
