Wudang had meant to resist, but the masculine energy radiating from Ren and the heat washing over her left her weak all over. She stopped resisting.
Ren's body had just broken through, and his surging vitality naturally gave off intense heat. Besides, most of the Spirit Treasure Origin he had just devoured had been refined from Buddhist Spirit Treasures. After all, most of the Spirit Treasures he owned had been seized from Buddhism.
Much of Buddhism's path emphasized yang. Its Spirit Treasures had taken on that firm, powerful energy, so although the Origin Ren devoured was pure, he had inevitably absorbed a great deal of yang energy with it.
The burning of the Emperor Flame and the tempering of the Heaven-Earth Flame had made the yang energy within him even stronger.
Normally, Ren could have calmed it with a little effort. But then Wudang walked in.
Wudang was one of the Interception Sect's four direct disciples and Ren's martial aunt. Few knew that her original form was a Kui Water Lotus imbued with Innate Yin Energy.
Innate Lifeforms had extraordinary potential. They were also pure and untouched by Karma. That was why Wudang had emerged unscathed from the Investiture of the Gods Calamity. In later generations, why had she founded the Mount Mao Sect in the Mortal World, a sect whose members favored fighting ghosts and zombies? Because the cultivation method she passed down reflected her own principles: its practitioners could absorb Yin Qi to grow stronger.
Now Ren's yang energy spread through the room as the Yin Qi within Wudang flowed out. The two energies intertwined, clouding both their minds until neither had any thought of resisting.
Ren and Wudang might not have known each other long, but Ren had been the one to propose putting her in charge
