The moment he arrived at the classroom, Nawaki rushed in and dragged Ren away. Ren still had no idea what was going on.

"Whew..." Nawaki let out a breath and stared at Ren. "Something huge happened to my sister, and the cause of it was you!"

Ren found that even stranger. He found a patch of grass to sit on and asked, "What happened to Sister Tsunade? Did her mission fail?"

"Ren... do you remember those two medicinal ingredients?" Nawaki had calmed down, his eyes carrying a trace of anticipation.

Ren narrowed his eyes. "You mean the Qilin Resin? Did Sister Tsunade take it?"

Thinking of the two pieces of Qilin Resin Tsunade had taken, Ren was still somewhat displeased, though he was no longer as angry as before. After all, he had the Trash Station and could draw in trash from countless worlds. There were far too many treasures that surpassed Qilin Resin. Moreover, Ren knew that only Tsunade could truly bring out Qilin Resin's effects. For ordinary people, it was merely a precious healing medicine.

At that moment, Nawaki bit his finger and formed hand seals. "Summoning Technique!"

A cloud of white smoke appeared, revealing a tiny Katsuyu!

Ren stared at Nawaki in surprise. "The Summoning Technique? You actually signed a summoning contract!"

Nawaki chuckled. "This is my sister's Summoning Beast. She had me sign the contract. All right... let Katsuyu tell you what happened!"

The tiny Katsuyu looked at Ren. "Young Master Nawaki, Young Master Ren. Lady Tsunade sent word and asked me to relay it to you."

At this point, Nawaki showed no concern. Clearly, he already knew what had happened.

Katsuyu looked only at Ren and said, "Young Master Ren... in the Land of Earth, Lady Tsunade killed two hundred Chunin and nine Jonin. When facing the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, she even paid the price of one arm to severely injure him. Afterward, Lady Tsunade broke through the encirclement, and her arm recovered a day later.

"All of this was thanks to the medicinal ingredient provided by Young Master Ren, which allowed Lady Tsunade to unleash such immense power. Therefore, she used the Summoning Technique to notify Young Master Nawaki and tell him to be on guard! After Katsuyu finished, Ren was instantly speechless. "An assassination... can't Ōnoki act normally for once? And I'm not on the assassination list, right?"

Katsuyu shook her head. "No, you are not. The Rock Ninja do not know about the relationship between Young Master Ren and Lady Tsunade."

Hearing that, Ren let out a breath. He was not afraid of being assassinated, but being targeted for no reason by an old man like Ōnoki was irritating no matter how he thought about it.

Just as Ren relaxed, he sensed a wave of killing intent.

The instant he sensed it, Ren shouted, "Who is it?!"

A Kunai flew out from the distant forest, heading straight for Nawaki.

Nawaki was startled as well. "No way! Is this the assassination?"

Nawaki spun aside, dodging the sudden Kunai. He normally would have had trouble avoiding it, but Ren had warned him in advance, allowing him to evade it easily.

Three ninjas charged out of the forest.

Ren said, "Nawaki... you've really dragged me into a disaster this time!"

Nawaki had dragged him out, then run around aimlessly until they reached Konoha's training grounds. This was a place for ninjas to train, but all the ninjas were currently on the battlefield, leaving the area deserted.

The three Rock Ninja silently nodded, then charged forward together.

Counterattack

One Rock Ninja grinned viciously, drawing his Kunai and vaguely aiming it at Ren.

The other two Rock Ninja also drew their Kunai, watching Nawaki and Katsuyu with mocking expressions.

All three were Rock Ninja. Ever since receiving the information, they had been secretly observing them. At first, they had been troubled over how to deal with Nawaki and Ren inside the Ninja Academy.

Nawaki was protected by the academy's teachers. Though those teachers were not strong, neither were they. Among the three Rock Ninja, two were Genin, while one was barely a Chunin. With strength this low, they might be instantly killed by a single teacher. After all, to infiltrate Konoha, they had to blend in like ordinary people, or they would be easily detected.

If stronger ninjas had come, they would likely have been captured by Konoha shortly after infiltrating it. Konoha had the Hyuga Clan and the Uchiha Clan. Under the watch of those clans' eyes, Jonin with considerable Chakra were far too easy to discover. Therefore, if other villages wanted to send spies into Konoha, they needed to send ordinary people.
