Doflamingo was on the verge of tears. After leaving Mock Town, he had happened upon a pirate ship without a pirate flag. Judging by its materials, it was even built from Treasure Tree Adam. Its deck was piled high with treasure, too. Wasn't that practically inviting people to rob it? Tempted, Doflamingo had decided to do just that. Unfortunately, only after preparing to rob it did he discover that it was Ren's ship.

Trebol was terrified. Feeling the Haki pouring out of Ren and watching him emerge, he nearly fainted! Who could have known that the man they were trying to rob was Ren?

Cold sweat beaded on Doflamingo's forehead as he unleashed his own Conqueror's Haki to resist Ren's. Unfortunately, the gulf between them was immense. Ren's Conqueror's Haki instantly overwhelmed his, then swept through and struck Doflamingo's crew.

Feeling that terrifying Conqueror's Haki, Doflamingo said meekly, "Hey, hey... this is a misunderstanding. I really didn't know this was your ship. If I'd known, I would never have been so presumptuous. Also, congratulations on becoming the Emperor of the New World, Lord Ren!"

Doflamingo spoke ingratiatingly, without a trace of arrogance. He had no choice. He knew who he was facing: the Emperor of the New World, a man who could wipe him out with ease. In the past, Ren had casually taken his Devil Fruits, and he hadn't dared say a word. Ren had already possessed the power to kill him back then.
