Ren chuckled and ruffled Orihime's hair. "Go on... and don't forget your pendant!"
Orihime clutched the snowflake pendant against her chest and smiled. "Mm... I won't!"
The black snowflake pendant held Morgana's Spiritual Pressure. It could conceal the Spiritual Pressure Orihime gave off, and if she was in danger, it would release a black protective barrier.
It was because of the pendant's protection that Ren had agreed to let Orihime return to school.
Ren watched Orihime leave. Then his eyes flickered, and with a light step, he vanished.
He moved at tremendous speed, but stopped a moment later. "Still not right. Sonido shouldn't be this slow!"
Even after learning Sonido from Morgana, Ren felt he was moving far too slowly.
"Master... you're performing Sonido with your physical body. Of course it's slow! True Sonido is performed with a spirit body. Free of the physical body's constraints, a spirit body is light and can blend far more readily with the Spirit Particles in the air. That's why Sonido is so fast!" Morgana's voice rang out.
"I see..." Ren shook his head. "So it comes down to the limitations of my body."
That set Ren thinking. In the Death God World, a physical body really was something of a burden. But he would never abandon his own. A true powerhouse relied on both body and soul.
He certainly would not cast aside his body just to strengthen his soul.
As he thought it over, the Quincy came to mind. The Death God World had three movement techniques: the Death Gods' Shunpo, the Hollows' Sonido, and the Quincy's Hirenkyaku.
Shunpo was the most widely used of the three. After all, it was a basic Death God technique. Yoruichi Shihōin was probably its greatest master, though. Apart from her, many Death Gods likely couldn't
