Ren nodded, sweeping his gaze over all the Menos Grande with equal expectation. "In that case... let the experiment begin!"
Mayuri Kurotsuchi nodded, suppressing his excitement as he slowly said, "The first step in creating the Hōgyoku is extracting the cores of the Menos Grande! Their cores are their masks! Therefore, the raw materials for creating the Hōgyoku are Menos Grande masks! However, those masks must be completely intact! After all, a damaged mask represents an incomplete Menos Grande!"
Mayuri Kurotsuchi spoke with great solemnity. Ren merely chuckled. "Intact masks? That's easy. Leave it to Morgana!"
Morgana naturally understood Ren's meaning. Then, she poured forth darkness, a flowing darkness that instantly enveloped the Menos Grande within the cages!
The Menos Grande were wrapped in darkness, and agonized cries soon came from within! Yet the cries lasted only a moment before the darkness receded! Once it withdrew, the enveloped Menos Grande had vanished! Dark Devour had consumed their bodies, but their cores—their masks—remained. Moreover, the masks were perfectly intact, and the Spiritual Pressure condensed within them had not diminished at all! This was Morgana's control over her darkness!
"Master... the cores of one hundred Menos Grande have been processed! What should we do next?" Morgana asked.
Ren had read the original Hōgyoku materials and knew part of the creation process. However, he had only recently begun studying souls and was still inferior to Mayuri Kurotsuchi in that regard. Thus, Ren turned his gaze toward Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
