According to the investigation, the radioactive material in the radiation dust came from strange ore excavated by gnomes deep underground. It was an elemental substance similar to uranium ore.

The gnomes affected by the Gnomeregan explosion—those citizens who had not died immediately and had temporarily escaped disaster—had all been transformed into radiation-mutated Leper Gnomes. Their bodies had developed natural antibodies to this radioactive element, allowing them to survive in Gnomeregan's harsh underground environment.

There were scalpels of every type, surgical scissors, hemostats, surgical forceps, needle holders, tissue forceps, triangular needles, S-hooks, and more. Besides these common instruments, there were also tools such as periosteal elevators.

"The purpose of the operation is to remove the mutated cell tissue in the brain. If successful, the Leper Gnomes can gradually recover their health and return to their former lives."
