The Chance to Restore the Kingdom

Antoine had not brought any Raven Guard guards with him as he entered the Syndicate's meeting hall once more. This had once been Stromgarde's royal council chamber, but after the Syndicate occupied it, it became their assembly hall. The arrangement was exactly the same as last time, yet Antoine's status could not have been more different.

"Antoine, I already know why you did that. I misunderstood you. Are you still willing to return to my side and work with us toward restoring our kingdom?" Prince Aliden, the Syndicate's leader, pleaded after they met.

Without responding to the request, Antoine gave a slight bow and conveyed Roderick's terms. Unsurprisingly, voices of opposition still made up the majority in the hall.

"Wasn't the Trollbane Family once the loyal servant of the Kingdom of Lordaeron? Our Syndicate must wash away the humiliation of Stromgarde sending troops to occupy Alterac's royal capital!" An elderly noble found it difficult to forget what had happened in the capital back then.

"If Roderick wishes, he can protect the Trollbane Family here for the rest of his life. Let's see who can hold out to the end." At a disadvantage in direct confrontation, the Syndicate decided to wear down the Raven Guard Knights through a standoff. They would have to return to Southshore sooner or later.

After they had vented their anger, Antoine ignored their clamor and said, "After this painful defeat, no one here is still proposing that the matter be settled through military means. Only after losing peace does one understand how precious it is."
