His frown deepened.

"No record." He finally looked up, disbelief in his voice. "There's nothing like it in the database of known ingredients from the Dark Continent."

The room fell silent for a moment.

Leib's eyes flickered behind his mask.

"Oh?" There was a note of amusement in his voice. "An ingredient even Glutton doesn't recognize... Now that's rare."

Kurapika stared at the black egg, his Scarlet Eyes narrowing slightly.

His memory told him that card should have matched the Three-Eyed Poison Scorpionfish. But Leib had just used his Nen to rewrite the traces on every card back, rendering Kurapika's memory useless.

Now, whatever he turned over would come down to luck.

"For an unknown ingredient..." Glutton cleared his throat. "Under casino rules, Cleaver King will attempt to prepare it using conventional methods. If he cannot, the match fails and the turn passes to the opponent."

He clapped his hands. A side door opened, and a waiter came in carrying a tray lined with red velvet.

On the tray sat a jet-black egg identical to the one on the card.
