Restarting the Brain

Pakunoda stood there blankly for a moment.

"Are you always like this?"

Bai Zhu turned his head.

"Like what?"

"Unhinged."

Shalnark nearly laughed out loud.

Nobunaga was choked up too.

Uvogin did not laugh. He could not laugh right now.

Bai Zhu fell silent for two seconds, then seriously corrected her.

"I'm fine. I think I'm already considered mentally stable among you Spiders."

Shalnark could not hold it in this time.

"That assessment is hard to argue with."

Machi glanced at Bai Zhu.

"Where are you taking us?"

"Junk Mountain."

Uvogin frowned.

"Are you screwing with us?"

Bai Zhu stopped and looked back at him.

"If you doubt something every three sentences, I suggest finding a wall and smashing your head into it a couple of times to restart your brain."

Nobunaga immediately shoved Uvogin back.

"Come on, come on."

Uvogin suppressed his anger.

"I've put up with you for a long time."

"What a coincidence."

Bai Zhu turned back around.

"So have I."

No one said anything else along the way.

When they reached the outer garbage belt, Bai Zhu stopped in front of an enormous but otherwise ordinary-looking mountain of trash.

There were not many people around.

This place had collapsed once because of him before, and the nearby scavengers had long since fled.

But now, there was no sign of a collapse on the surface.

Bai Zhu pointed beneath their feet.

"The real Church is underneath."

Uvogin stared at it for a long while.

"This is just garbage."

"Right."

Bai Zhu nodded.

"Meteor City's signature interior design."

Uvogin's face darkened again.

Chrollo had not said a word the entire time.

He stepped closer, crouched down, and picked up a broken tile.

The tile was conspicuously clean.

Shalnark noticed it too.

"Someone cleaned this place?"

"No."
