Whitebeard silently watched his crew hold a boisterous feast on the deck, as though they had completely emerged from the shadow cast by Blackbeard's departure. A faint gravity appeared on his face.
"Marco, Jozu, prepare for battle." He calmly instructed Marco, the ship doctor, first mate, and commander of the First Division, who stood at his side instead of joining the revelry, as well as Jozu, the steady-tempered successor he had personally chosen.
"Old Man, do you think Big Mom will still come after hearing the news about the Revolutionary Army?" Marco asked calmly, sitting by the rail with a huge bowl of wine in his hand.
"Of course she will. She is Charlotte Linlin. She is one of the Four Emperors, as famous as I am. She is a pirate." A savage grin spread across Whitebeard's face, making him look terrifying.
"I've dealt with pirates more than anyone else in my life. As a pirate, how could I not understand pirates?"
The Four Emperors all had an extremely deep understanding of pirates.
Kaido was always saying, "Pirates will betray you." Sure enough, Drake had betrayed him without hesitation. Even Apu, the DJ, or any of the other Tobiroppo might betray him.
That was because Kaido understood the nature of pirates far too well.
Whitebeard, Big Mom, and even Red-Haired were the same.
The people they dealt with most on the seas were not Marines, but pirates. They had seen every kind of pirate there was, and after seeing so many, they had long become intimately familiar with pirates' personalities and methods of action.
Big Mom would never give up. Given her petty, violent, and frenzied character, she would rather see the entire Big Mom Pirates die here than take another step back.
Whitebeard picked up the bowl before him.
