The narrow mountain path wound ahead, towering rock walls pressing down on both sides and blocking most of the light. The group moved along the stony trail, loose gravel crunching endlessly beneath their feet. Wind poured through cracks in the cliffs, carrying an icy chill that made them shudder.
Ryan walked at the front, one hand always resting on his sword hilt, his cold gaze sweeping over the path ahead. He could sense something strange in the air. A faint droning came and went, seeming to rise from underground one moment and from the depths of the mountains the next. Each time it sounded, his chest tightened slightly and his breathing quickened.
The Lead Hunter followed close behind, pale-faced and gripping a broken spear so tightly that his knuckles had turned white. His gaze constantly shifted through the shadows, ready for any sudden danger. The Greatsword Hunter's steps grew heavier and heavier. The cloth over his shoulder had already been soaked through with blood, and the massive blade on his back had become a burden, yet he still clutched it tightly, unwilling to let it go. The Archer Hunter nervously looked back over his shoulder, his broken bow strapped to his back while he gripped a single arrow as though it were his only support.
"They're closing in," Ryan said quietly.
Cold sweat beaded on the Archer Hunter's forehead as he breathed rapidly. "I can feel it... like something has been watching us the whole time."
