  • Carmen and Sanji competed before the Baratie diners, making twice-cooked pork and salmon sashimi respectively.
  • The diners favored Carmen's aromatic dish, and she won the contest by a wide margin.
  • Carmen gave Sanji her recipe notebook and said she looked forward to competing with him again.
  • Locke tasted both dishes, caught up with Carmen, and reassured her that he would always stay by her side.
  • Carmen kissed Locke on the cheek and returned to her room, and Locke ordered the Phantom crew to set sail.
  • Locke told Sanji to meet him in the New World and asked him to tell a moss-green-haired man that he awaited his challenge.

Ch. 40Attack

  • Yun Zhinnan collapsed after suffering the move's strain, and Big Bear and Second Bear arrived to stand between him and the marines.

Ch. 43Smoker

Locke confronted Smoker while pursuing Colonel Nezumi, and used True Qi to injure Smoker despite his Smoke-Logia powers. As they resumed fighting, Smoker realized Locke’s Righteous True Qi could still hurt him even when he turned elemental.

  • Locke found Colonel Nezumi and attacked, but Smoker intervened before the blade could strike.
  • Nezumi fled, and Locke sent Annie after him while keeping Smoker from stopping her.
  • Locke coated his Tang Dao in True Qi and wounded Smoker, who initially mistook the technique for Haki.
  • Locke used a clone to attack Smoker, then spoke about admiring him and replacing the World Government.

  • Big Bear and the others honored the dead, forced Nezumi to kneel, and woke him with cold water.
  • Big Bear pressed Nezumi's face against a gravestone and demanded to know whether he had listened to his victims' pleas for mercy.

Ch. 49Wooden Cabin

After avenging the villagers, Locke left Bisi Island with Big Bear and the others, then became lost at sea before reaching an uncharted island. While the group explored the island, Locke discovered an underground tunnel, and Carmen and Annie found a cabin as Big Bear and Second Bear rushed toward them.

  • Big Bear and Second Bear fled from a giant tiger, but Carmen stopped its charge and Annie knocked it unconscious.
  • Big Bear and Second Bear told Carmen they had encountered the tiger while hunting, and the group climbed toward the cabin.
