Van escaped the Donquixote Family and the Marines while freeing slaves and gathering companions. He left Sulfur-Iron Island with Blue Moon and miners, then headed toward Luteni Island to investigate pirates and resupply.

• Van ate the Op-Op Fruit, rescued Law with Rosinante and Dory, and escaped Minion Island while Vergo and Doflamingo pursued them.
• Van cured Law, separated from Drake, Baby-5, and Law to draw attention away from them, then attacked Donquixote Family bases and freed slaves from an auction warehouse.
• Van escaped a Marine attack with the refugees, fought Zephyr’s trainees, and settled the Redemption Fate Event for Bellamy, Sugar, and Monet.
• Van reached Sulfur-Iron Island with Blue Moon, killed Lord Bareno and Diamante, and created the one-year Different Paths Fate Event with Diamante, Drake, and Baby-5 as anchors.
• Van and the freed miners built four ships, then Van accepted Blue Moon’s choice to join him and left the island with her and several miners.
• News of Van’s clashes spread, raising his bounties, and he approached Luteni Island to investigate reports of pirates plundering it.

Van reunited with old companions, met Shanks and young Luffy in Foosha Village, and helped save Ginny before heading to Birka. There, he found the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and established a new Fate Event with Enel as its anchor.

• Van reunited with Law, Baby-5, and the others on Wikoff Island, then took control of the Seidel Family’s entertainment complex and left with its valuables.
• Van persuaded Judge to partner with him, traveled with Germa to the East Blue, and left Kogia Island with ten noblewomen and the Spring-Spring Fruit, which Baiyan ate.
• Van met young Luffy in Foosha Village and intervened when Higuma abducted him, helping Shanks save Luffy from the Lord of the Coast.
• Van reattached Shanks’s severed arm, joined the villagers and Red Hair Pirates in a celebration, and watched Shanks give Luffy his Straw Hat.
• Van left Elena and her companions ashore, enrolled Law and the others at Shimotsuki Dojo, and arranged for Kuma to help search for Ginny.
• Kuma brought Ginny and infant Bonney to Van, who treated Ginny’s illness and saved her through the Rescue event.
• Van traveled to a Sky Island, defeated Urouge, and persuaded him to guide him to Birka.
• Van found the Rumble-Rumble Fruit in a neglected temple storeroom and established the Fate Event Choice with Enel as its anchor.
