Observation Haki Traits (Part 2)

Based on their effects, Jogo divided all Traits into three categories.

"The first and most common category is [Identity Traits]."

He looked toward the Trait pool.

"Such as 'Historian,' 'Archaeologist,' 'Hoodlum,' and 'Drunkard.'"

"At the white stage, this type of Trait enhances Observation Haki's ability to sense people with those identities."

"For example, the effect of the 'Drunkard' Trait is [can more easily distinguish Drunkards within the range of Observation Haki]."

Though that effect seemed rather ordinary,

once the Trait advanced to the blue stage, it would immediately display an incredibly powerful special effect!

"Take 'Archaeologist,' for example."

"Its Trait effect is [can more easily distinguish Archaeologists within the range of Observation Haki, with an extremely low chance of tracing back events that occurred within the sensing range]."

Tracing back the past!

Holy crap, Jogo's assessment of it was: absolutely insane!

The chance might have been "extremely low,"

but with the noble "Otherworldly Soul," if quality was not enough, quantity could make up for it. It was not a problem at all!

"So why the hell did this crappy panel rate my noble 'Otherworldly Soul' as silver?"

Jogo could not help grumbling inwardly.

Ever since setting out to sea, he had practically never taken off "Otherworldly Soul"!

Using his ultimate move, Hundred Flowers Wither: Ten-Ring Dance, required "Otherworldly Soul" to reduce the burden;

using "Historian" required "Otherworldly Soul" to enhance his control;

using "Spy" required "Otherworldly Soul" to raise his Haki level...

A universal support!

If other Traits wanted to climb the ranks, they had to obediently call "Otherworldly Soul" daddy!

Such an insane Trait, and it was only given silver?

"Unreasonable. It should at least be rainbow-tier!"

Shaking his head, Jogo continued looking at the Trait pool.

"The second type of Trait is [specialized Traits targeting a certain group]."

The representative was his only Trait that had reached silver through leveling: "Fishing Master"!

"There are also 'Gangster Killer' and 'Pirate Hunter.'"

Although this type of Trait performed rather poorly with Conqueror's Haki, it unexpectedly did quite well with Observation Haki.

At the white stage, they generally enhanced Observation Haki's ability to observe a certain type of enemy.

"For example, 'Pirate Hunter.'"

"Its Trait effect is [enhances Observation Haki's ability to observe pirates]."

What needed to be noted was that it enhanced "observation ability," not the "distinguishing ability" of the earlier [Identity] Traits.

This was an effect heavily geared toward combat.

According to Jogo's tests,

when only "Otherworldly Soul" was equipped, he could at most sense the general movements of the pirates around him.

But after equipping "Pirate Hunter" as well, he could almost clearly predict the next actions of the pirates around him!

It was basically a youth-version future sight!

Of course, it had its drawbacks.

If there were too many pirates nearby and too much information to process at once, his brain could not handle it.

Fortunately, he had the noble "Otherworldly Soul," which could greatly reduce the burden on him.

Praise "Otherworldly Soul"!

"Once they advance to the blue and silver stages, the abilities of this type of Trait will be further strengthened."

Jogo continued his analysis.

"From what I can see now, the blue stage should add the ability to [sense emotions]."

"And at the silver stage, it gains the effect of [detecting weaknesses]."

"Fishing Master" was the complete example.

[Trait effect: enhances Observation Haki's ability to observe marine life, with a chance to sense the emotions of marine life, and an extremely small chance to discover the weaknesses of marine life.]

Jogo's assessment was: fish upon fish!

After all, he did not really abuse fish.

If marine life were replaced with pirates, Celestial Dragons, Imu, and the like, then the effect would unquestionably be insane!

"The third category... all the remaining Traits that are hard to classify go here."

"These Traits are usually either non-upgradable Traits or Traits with special effects."

Jogo collectively categorized them as [Other Traits].

"First is the absolute worst of the worst: 'Blood Scent.'"

Even without Conqueror's Haki, this Trait remained true to itself. Its entire purpose was still to be useless.

Trait effect: [allows Observation Haki to sense the presence of blood more clearly.]

It could not be said to be completely useless... it could only be said to be utterly useless!

Absolutely trash.

"Next is 'Strong.'"

To be honest, Jogo had always had high expectations for this Trait.

After all, it was a Trait he had painstakingly accumulated through three years of training.

Unfortunately, its effect had been plain and unremarkable so far.

[Trait effect: can enhance Observation Haki.]

Though it was still useful, compared to other Traits—especially "Otherworldly Soul"—it was somewhat lacking.

Fortunately, it was an upgradable Trait. Its progress had already reached 96%, and perhaps another half month of training would allow it to level up.

Jogo was quite looking forward to the Trait's effect after upgrading.

Of course, if one were to ask which Trait among the [Other Traits] he looked forward to the most?

It naturally had to be the invincible "Leaving the Nest"!

[Trait effect: as the duration of Observation Haki's use increases, Observation Haki can be slowly enhanced!]

Growth!

Still growth!

This time, he did not even need enemies. He could just suck himself dry directly!

The longer he maintained Observation Haki, the stronger it became; the stronger his Observation Haki became, the longer he could maintain it!

Stepping on his own left foot and taking off right where he stood!

"Unfortunately, 'Leaving the Nest' is only white-tier, and its growth rate is extremely slow."

Jogo felt that this was almost becoming a sore point for him.

"Among the remaining Traits,

'Child King' can find people younger than me,

'Beheading Tactics' can discover the person with the highest status within the sensing range,

and there's also 'Helpful'... this Trait is rather interesting.

It can detect the degree of kindness in everyone within the sensing range and display it through colors!

The whiter, the kinder!"

"For example, right now..."

Traits Equipped: "Otherworldly Soul (Silver)" "Helpful (White)"

Leaning on his mop, Jogo abruptly stepped aside without warning.

A familiar face suddenly rushed out from behind him—a bald head!

The bald pirate who had called him a pervert five days ago, then respectfully led the way for him aboard the ship.

He charged fast and hard, seemingly not expecting Jogo to suddenly dodge. Losing his balance, he planted his face straight into the ground!

Jogo looked at him in "surprise."

"Are you all right?"

The bald man scrambled up from the ground, looking somewhat embarrassed.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. It was just a fall, wasn't it? I'm fine, no need to help me..."

Just as he got to his feet, he seemed to notice someone's gaze from afar. His words and body both froze, as though he had remembered something.

The next second, he let out a cry of pain and fell to the ground.

"Ow~~"

"You brat, you deliberately ran into me, didn't you?!"

Hugging one leg, he rolled on the ground and pointed at Jogo as he accused him in a shrill voice.

Jogo quietly watched his performance.

In his perception, the bald man's color was gray mixed with a faint trace of white.

Not a good person.

Very soon, pirates densely packed across the deck surrounded them with unfriendly expressions.

"Is that the new slave?"

"He's actually this arrogant?"

"Does he even know what a slave's status is? Looks like we need to teach him a proper lesson!"

The crowd was riled up!

Just as the situation was becoming increasingly uncontrollable, Abu pushed through the crowd and squeezed in, standing in front of Jogo.

"What are you doing?"

"Do you know who stands before you? He's the youngest Historian in history!"

"I believe he would never do such a thing!"

As he spoke, Abu turned to Jogo and smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll uphold justice for you!"

Jogo looked at Abu's color in his perception, black enough that not a trace of white could be seen, and smiled.

"Then I'll leave it to you, Abu!"
