Rocks, King of the World

After hearing why Roger was searching for the Poneglyphs, Rocks fell silent for a moment.

He folded his arms and looked away from Roger, his gaze settling on the two enormous Poneglyphs.

"Someone who can decipher these words..." Rocks murmured.

Roger turned to look at him.

"Come to think of it, Rocks."

"I've always wanted to ask. Why are you so interested in ancient history?"

Rocks looked back at Roger.

"Roger, do you know why I became a pirate?"

Roger raised an eyebrow. "To grow stronger and conquer the seas?"

"No."

Rocks shook his head.

He walked up to the Road Poneglyph and pressed a hand against its surface.

"I want to become King of the World."

Roger froze for a moment.

"King of the World? Isn't that more or less what I said?"

"It's different. I don't want to be some Pirate King, one of the Four Emperors, or one of those damned Celestial Dragons."

"I want to rule the entire world."

"To stand above the Celestial Dragons, above the World Government, above everyone—a true king."
